JAZZ: A Spiritual Journey
Jazz music affirms life, reconnecting and reminding us of life’s great lesson…with LOVE, all things are possible.
THE CONCERT
We all desire good health, meaningful relationships, and prosperous living; yet, in our quest for such, we sometimes forget our way. Thankfully, there are gentle reminders all around us, in nature, in children, and even in music.
JAZZ: A Spiritual Journey offers an invigorating concert of timeless jazz classics including Rodgers and Hart's "Blue Moon", Ira and George Gershwin's “Our Love is Here to Stay”, and Mongo Santamaria's "Afro Blue" peppered with inspiring poetry.
THE WORKSHOP
Library Literary Resident, poet and jazz vocalist, Eboniramm, introduces the dynamics of poetry and jazz in an entertaining, interactive and thought provoking setting. Through her passionate belief in the inherent wisdom buried within us, Eboniramm invites the audience to explore the treasury that is poetry and jazz; where words and music; rhyme and rhythm, each of varied and vital points of reference, meet to inspire. It is in this setting that poetry and jazz gives voice to artists both past and present, while entertaining and informing the audience with creative energy ranging from the incredible to the sublime. The gathering concludes with an open mic featuring the creative offerings of participating members.
